I am proud to announce that my wife and business partner Arlene Sarver has been nominated for the 2014 Palo Verde Award for the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year.
This is the 10th year for this award and Arlene's first nomination. I know that she is both humbled and surprised by this nomination. It is a well-deserved honor for her to receive this nomination.
The winner will be announced at the annual formal gala on Saturday October 25, 2014 at the Four Points by Sheraton Ahwatukee.
Suffice to say that I am so very proud of Arlene. Not only for her accomplishments in her successful careers, but for the way she lives her life and the values to which she adheres. I consider each day that we work together a gift. Sure, there are times that we both give each other "the Look", but "the Look" is based on mutual love and respect (it's a Sicilian thing). Our business would not be successful without her strong and unwavering confidence and direction. I am so grateful for having such an amazing partner.
Regarding partnerships. I am especially grateful for having Arlene as my dance partner for so many years. We met on the dance floor in the Pittsburgh area and still find our greatest joys on a hardwood dance floor. I am always eagerly awaiting my next dance with Arlene.
