The Story Behind...
Night Bloomer!

We call it Night Bloomer or you can call it Queen of the Night…
Its white flower is nocturnal so rise early to catch the beauty of this desert gem before it closes its petals forever at sunrise.
For this Night Bloomer it was a long, slow exposure shot on sheet film with a large format, 4x5 camera.  With a black velvet background, the beautiful white flower pops.
Night Bloomer is of the Cereus genus sharing over 30 different types of species mostly from South America.
But never fear.  You don’t have to go to South America for the experience.  This Night Bloomer grows right here in Phoenix and loves it!
